Role Description The US Senior Bookkeeper will manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities for U.S. accounting firm clients, including maintaining general ledgers, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and reconciling bank and credit card accounts. This full-time remote role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with U.S. accounting standards and firm policies. The Senior Bookkeeper will work closely with client teams to clarify transaction details, resolve discrepancies, and provide clear documentation for audits and reviews. The role also includes using accounting software to process transactions, improve workflows, and contribute to continuous process improvement and best practices across nearshore teams.
Qualifications
Strong bookkeeping and journal entries (accounting) skills to maintain accurate ledgers and support closing processes.
Experience preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements to support decision-making and compliance.
Proficiency with accounting software and finance-related tools used by U.S. accounting firms.
Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, basic tax concepts, and standard accounting practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Several years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably with U.S. clients or public accounting firms.
Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams across time zones.
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, reliability in meeting deadlines, and comfort working in a fully remote environment.
