The Opportunity
We are looking for a technically sharp, AI-native Controller to own Draiver’s global accounting function and be a strategic finance partner to the CBO and CEO. This is a high-visibility role with direct leadership exposure from day one, built for someone who wants to grow into a Finance Leadership seat as Draiver scales.
If you have ever thought “there has to be a smarter way to do this”, and then actually built it, you will thrive here.
What You Will Own
Controller Functions
Own the full month-end close cycle: journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L review across US, Brazil, and Mexico entities
Manage AP, accrued liabilities, stock compensation, and accrued revenue in compliance with IFRS, you set the standard, not just follow it
Review and approve corporate card expenses (Ramp, PEX) with proper GL coding per policy
Serve as the primary external auditor contact and own the audit prep process end-to-end
Evaluate contracts and non-standard transactions for appropriate accounting treatment; draft technical memos as needed
Lead AR management: aging analysis, collections workflow, and client dispute resolution including international receivables
Establish, document, and enforce accounting policies that build a best-in-class internal control environment aligned with IFRS and SOX
AI & Systems Integration
Connect Draiver’s finance stack, NetSuite, Airbase, Ramp, HubSpot, Slack, Google Drive, to Claude (Anthropic) via MCP to automate reporting and surface real-time insights to the CBO and CEO
Build AI-powered financial dashboards that replace manual pulls: cash position, AR aging, expense trends, and entity-level P&L
Design and own automations for recurring tasks — reconciliations, expense coding, AR follow-ups, and month-end checklists
Act as the internal AI-for-finance expert: train teammates, document workflows, and continuously raise the bar on what is automated
Leadership & Strategy
Report directly to the CBO with high-frequency exposure to the CEO and executive leadership
Act as a strategic thought partner to leadership on financial visibility, cash management, and operational efficiency — not just a reporter of results
Drive cross-functional collaboration with operations, sales, and legal to ensure financial processes support business growth
What we are looking for
Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting from a top-tier university
- CPA required (or international equivalent)
Experience: 10+ years in accounting with a balanced profile across three areas: (1) hands-on accounting execution, journal entries, reconciliations, close cycles, multi-entity consolidations- including multiple currencies; (2) audit leadership, served as primary liaison for external auditors, owned audit prep end-to-end, and can defend technical positions; and (3) analytical decision-making, uses financial data and reporting tools to surface insights, not just report results. Controller experience or equivalent required. Big 4 experience is a strong plus.
Technical: Deep IFRS & US GAAP knowledge · Advanced Excel · NetSuite strongly preferred · SOX / internal controls · Financial analytics and decision-support tools (e.g., Superset, Looker, Power BI, or equivalent) — comfortable moving from ledger to insight without relying on a data team
AI-Native: Hands-on experience using AI tools (Claude, GPT, or similar) to automate financial workflows, build dashboards, or connect systems via API or MCP — not just “open to learning”
Systems: Airbase · Ramp · Salesforce · Google Workspace · Comfortable with integrations and no-code / low-code tools
Languages: English required · Spanish and/or Portuguese a significant plus given our LATAM footprint
Mindset: Ownership mentality · Builds systems, not just spreadsheets · Thrives in a fast-paced startup · Acts like an owner
Requisitos excluyentes
- Demonstrated ability to lead financial processes and improve operational efficiency in a global setting.
- Proficiency in NetSuite, Airbase, and Ramp for managing financial operations and reporting.
Requisitos deseables
- Experience in acting as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing insights beyond just reporting.
- Familiarity with integrating AI solutions like Claude for automating financial dashboards and processes.
